The Arcanum Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking an energetic, innovative leader to serve as
Library Director. The Arcanum Public Library serves the Arcanum Butler School District and surrounding
communities. The library has a materials inventory and annual circulation of approximately 70,000. The
library is a member of the Consortium of Ohio Libraries (COOL).
This individual will work closely with the library staff (full time and part time staff of fifteen). They must
demonstrate strong and effective leadership, communication and technical skills. Requisite knowledge
and skills are preferred in the areas of public relations, community outreach, development, budgeting
and library management.
The position offers a starting salary range of $35,000 to $45,000 depending on education and
experience. A four-year college degree or comparable library related experience is required, with a
Masters in Library Science degree preferred. The successful candidate will preferably have three years
of management experience.
